Gardenia flowers for Summerhill House Hotel wedding

I live and work in one of the most beautiful places on Earth: county Wicklow, Ireland. Known also as the ‘Garden of Ireland’, Wicklow is a popular place for brides and grooms who set their heart on a country wedding. Wicklow boasts fabulous wedding locations, country manors, chic hotels and ancient churches. One of the best examples is Summerhill House Hotel in the beautiful Enniskerry vilage.

Marisa set her heart on gardenias for her wedding day and chose a simple design of domed hydrangeas, delicate Akito roses and elegant gardenia bouquet  finished with a stylish satin and lace handle, punctuated with small diamantes.  She finished her floral ensemble with two delicate gardenia blooms set in her hair, whilst the groom’s gardenia buttonhole was the perfect match to her bouquet. Her bridesmaids carried elegant hydrangea posies wrapped in ivory satin and the guests’ lapels were adorned with scented White Naomi roses and dark gardenia and pistache foliage.

Gardenias are luxurious and elegant flowers, their fragrance inspired the most iconic perfumes.  They are also probably one of the most chalenging flowers to work with as they bruise and discolour so very easily. But oh, the scent and their beauty! They are so worth the pain and stress they put the poor florist through.

They say a picture speaks a thousand words..
